Well, things have been very lively here! We are loving every moment of it. Things are much different here than when we lived in Oregon. But in a very good way! The folks here are such good and caring people. Very neighborly. So, in the 4 months we've been here we have put in 15 fruit trees, got our pasture fenced, put in some small pastures, put in a huge garden, put up some fire wood, got 8 geese, 30 more laying hens, butchered 35 meat chickens, got 4 sheep, had baby rabbits for eating, got a milk cow and learned how to make lots of different things with milk, we also got 3 bottle calves for meat,we put in electric fencing for some smaller paddocks and will have pigs on Friday. In a nutshell, that's what we've been up to. Not to mention Doug works a full time job. I am working on getting some pictures done by this weekend. Patience is a virtue! LOL
This is The Fergy Farm. A 14 acre bit of Heaven located in beautiful central Nebraska! Jamie and I are absolutely in love with this place!
The farm looks quite a bit different than this aerial photo shows. The photo is from some years past. We have now fenced about two acres in the photo (near the house) and this is where Dahlia our milk cow, the sheep herd and Biscuit the mini donkey now roam and eat to their hearts content. Also on the farm we have around 25 laying hens, several roosters, California Rabbits for meat and Embden geese. Not to mention the cat named Jinxie and good 'ol Mac the dog. We are currently raising 30 more Barred Rock layers and 4 more French Tolouse geese but they are still fairly young.
Our hope is that you find peace and contentment here at The Fergy Farm like we do. Be sure to check back and we will be giving updates on whats happening, whats for sale and even future plans.
P.S. The very bottom right area in the photo is now garden (about 1.3 acres of it, but not all planted yet).
