URGENT PRAYER REQUEST
By Jamie on Jun 30, 2009 | In Daily life | Send feedback »
I just recieved this URGENT request for a dear friend of our family.
Her name is Joanie Hunter, She has many health issues and just found out that her cancer has come back. Here is what I know so far according to my auntie:
Its stage 4, but we do not know whether it is good stage 4 or bad stage 4(liver). I don’t know much more than what she was able to tell me last night, she was in a state of shock. She spoke with her doctor yesterday on the phone so she will see him Friday for the plan of attack. I am not sure how much she was able to absorb, which makes me irritated that he chose to tell her on the phone. Someone could have went with her and asked questions. Radiation will be first, then chemo.
I will keep this updated. Please pass this on to your prayer groups!
Organic family farm and co-op raided!
By Jamie on Jun 30, 2009 | In Homeschool | Send feedback »
I just read this today, it is happening more and more. The government is creeping further and further into peoples lives. When is enough, enough? When are the people of this country going to rise up? I don’t understand the mentality of so many people.
Please feel free to share this with others.
Jamie
______
The Stowers of La Grange, Ohio operate an organic food cooperative called Manna Storehouse. Mr. Stowers is presently serving our country with military duty in Iraq. Mrs. Stowers home schools and operates the coop that serves about 60 families in the area.
On the morning of December 1, 2008, 14 law enforcement officers forcefully entered the Stowers’ residence, without first announcing they were police or stating the purpose of the visit. With guns drawn, officers swiftly and immediately moved to the upstairs of the home, finding ten children in the middle of a home-schooling lesson. Officers then moved Jacqueline Stowers and her children to their living room where they were held for more than six hours.
There was no differentiation made between the Stower’s personal food supply and that of the coop - about a year’s worth of meat that they had raised and personal canned goods were taken, as well as her computer and other personal items ($8,000 worth total). According to the report of the sheriff’s department, one of the deputies even snatched a cell phone out of the hand of a teenage son who was attempting to call Mr. Stowers at the time.

From the above site, this clip: "the Manna Storehouse raid could be seen as a kind of “test-marketing” for a new style of policing (or repression). And according to that interview, the planners would be carefully monitoring everyone’s response through internet and telephone traffic, as well as through the more public media, to see how they could “model” this “perturbation” they’ve caused to the status quo, all the better to better roll out their “program” smoothly when the time comes."
A new Fergy Farm!!

I haven’t said much about it here but we are hating the city life. The kids are bored, not enough to keep em busy. No place to explore, eggs to check for, animals to feed, talk to,play with.
You can only go somewhere so often and frankly,as most of you know,we are homebodies. So,we decided we must break our lease and find a place in the county. This was decided Friday. We found a little farmhouse on an acre and will be moving this week. It is over the border in Iowa but its closer to Doug’s work and to Church.
I will be posting pictures soon, but suffice it to say that we are soo excited and greatful to be getting out of the city.
God Bless,
Jamie
Anniversary and Morning Sickness

Well, I am slow to update lately because I am feeling kindof puny. It isn’t too bad but it does get me in a very unmotivated state of mind. I hate that part of being pregnant, so I am really praying that I can stay positive, motivated and active. It is hard, so any spare prayers you could send up would be very appreciated.
Doug and I celebrated our 15th anniversary this past weekend and it was another quiet year. We thought about doing the cultural thing… going to dinner but honestly it would be questionable quality, certainly not organically grown and expensive. So, we did our favorite thing and stayed home with our children, had a great dinner( Doug is a fabulous cook). He BBQ’d steak, and we had steamed carrots and garlic bread. I have really bad pregnancy brain so I feel like I am forgetting something. LOL. Anyhoo, it was GOOD!!
I am very greatful to have such a wonderful marriage. God is very good to me.
More on Nebraska

I know many of you have been patiently waiting for a real update on our new life in Nebraska. I have to apologize for not getting right on but we are loving it so much and have been having so much fun that it hasn’t really left much time for blogging.
The city is quite large, and as you all know I am NOT a city person but God is teaching me to be content in all things and trust in His timing. So, for now I believe we have been given some time and will be putting some things for our future homestead into place.
One of the things we have noticed it that most folks here are really not that into nutrition and eating well. My understanding is that the trends begin on the coasts and move their way inward, so it just hasn’t made it here yet. That is good in someways, for us it means we can focus on getting somewhat established and educating folks on the whys and how to’s of healthy living. Then to market some of what The Fergy Farm will be producing in order to bring in some money for our future with daddy home.
The most amazing blessing for us is our parish, I have mentioned briefly before about the FSSP and our local parish Immaculate Conception Church, ran by the FSSP. I understand by many people that most of the FSSP parishes are full of life and very vibrant in bringing the family closer to God through its Church life.
So far I have to agree, We absolutely love our priest, Fr. Brancich, who is so open to ideas and offerings of help that we love breathing in this breath of fresh air. He is always willing to get together and socialize whenever possible. Just last night we were blessed to be able to go out for a dinner with some friends that came down from North Dakota to see the FSSP ordinations. They are camping and so we all made our way out to the campground and had a great dinner and lots of fellowship. Father even showed up and visited. If you knew the schedule of our last week of events at church you would see the kind of effort Fr. made in coming out.
Actually you can see the calendar on our parish website, its www.latinmassomaha.com.
Yesterday, we were so blessed to have newly ordained Fr. Goddard, FSSP celebrate his first Mass and it was a Solemn High Mass. WOW, if you have never attended one it was simply beautiful. We gained a plenary indulgence for attending that. Afterward we had the great privilage of attending a reception for him and each family recieved a blessing from Fr. Goddard( another plenary indulgence).
I wish I had taken the camera… I keep forgetting it. I am sorry, I will try harder to keep you all in pictures.
Thats it for now. I do have a couple of pictures from last weekend when Fr. Brancich and Fr. Novokowski came over.

They are competing for camera time… LOL sorry it was a tie this time!
